Tulou, or earth buildings, in Yongding are some of the most representative buildings of their kind in southeast China's Fujian Province. These grand and uniquely structured ancient Chinese buildings have a long history. They are not only a special cultural symbol of the ethnic Hakka people but also a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008. Notably, these wonderful architectures inspired Mulan's hometown in Disney's 2020 film of the same name. They also served as an important filming prototype for the famous Chinese animated movie "Big Fish & Begonia."
