China's fast-developing humanoid robots are stepping into real-world application scenarios. In a scene that may once have belonged in a science-fiction movie, a humanoid "police robot" patrolled the city streets alongside other police officers in Shenzhen, south China's Guangdong Province. These "police robots" mainly participate in basic information collection, patrols and police services. With growing Chinese consumer and corporate interest, humanoid robots are expected to play increasingly important roles in the future.
