With the pet population soaring and the pet economy flourishing in China, a wave of pet cafes has surged across the country, offering popular retreats where visitors can unwind while mingling with adorable animals.
Data from Qichacha, a leading platform for company information inquiry services, shows that there are currently over 3,500 cat cafe-related companies and more than 200 dog cafe-related businesses in China.
Previously, people would call their pets "friends" – it was all about companionship. But today, the new generation of pet owners treats their pets like family members. It's not just a name change, but a whole new level of love and care.
From meticulously choosing high-quality dog food brands and ordering custom-made treats and toys, to scheduling regular trips to the grooming parlor and occasionally splurging on creative styling, pet owners are spending big on their furry cuties.
