Progress of China's healthcare system from the '80s to today

In 1981, Roberta Lipson, chair emeritus of the American Chamber of Commerce in China, founded Chindex, bringing advanced medical technology to China—something that was needed at the time. Sixteen years later, she founded United Family Healthcare in Beijing, the first private healthcare facility in the country. Fast forward to today, where she says China's healthcare system has evolved with huge development. "Chinese doctors in major public 3A hospitals having all the medical hardware at their disposal," "98-99 percent of the people in China are covered by some social insurance," and more opportunities for private healthcare to meet more patients' needs.
