China's political calendar enters a critical phase as over 2,000 members of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference gather in Beijing for their annual session.
President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders attended the opening meeting, where Wang Huning, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, delivered a work report on the committee's achievements over the past year.
