China's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday called on the U.S. to engage in reciprocal talks on fentanyl, warning it against using bullying tactics to undermine China's interests.
If the U.S. truly wishes to resolve the fentanyl issue, it should engage with China on an equal, respectful and mutually beneficial basis to address both sides' concerns, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said at a press conference.
But if the U.S. harbors ulterior motives and insists on undermining China's interests, China will see it through to the end, Lin said.
He urged the U.S. to abandon its bullying tactics and return to the proper track of dialogue and cooperation as soon as possible.
