Using the classic shadow play "Mu Guiying Takes Command" as a narrative framework, this interactive installation blends traditional shadow puppetry art and modern digital technology, to present a scene of the ancient heroine Mu Guiying dressing in front of the mirror before donning her military armor. It's a space that belongs solely to this young lady.
This work titled "Shadow Lamp: In Front of the Mirror," produced by Chinese artist Li Hanxuan, is an attractive art piece that's on display at the three-month "Dian Xi Yi Ben – Shadow Puppetry and Contemporary Art Exhibition" in Nanchizi Museum in downtown Beijing.
