Lei Jun: Xiaomi remains committed to sci-tech innovation in China

Lei Jun, founder and CEO of Xiaomi and a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), stressed the company's commitment to technological innovation and high-end manufacturing while speaking at the Deputies' Corridor before the opening of the third session of the 14th NPC on Wednesday morning in Beijing. In the past five years, Xiaomi has exceeded its planned 100-billion-yuan ($13.7-billion) investment in core technologies, achieving remarkable progress in smartphones, smart devices and electric vehicles. Lei emphasized Xiaomi's role as both a builder and beneficiary of China's manufacturing industry, pledging to continue fostering high-quality productive forces and AI integration to benefit consumers.
