Gashi Wangmo, a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), said elderly care in southwest China's Sichuan Province has improved in recent years when answering a media question at the Deputies' Corridor.
The deputy works as the director of an elderly care center in Barkam City, located in the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of Sichuan. Ever since she took up the position in 2019, she has been concentrating on enhancing the care skills of her staff. Now in her 30s, she has been in the elderly care industry since she was 18.
This marks her third year as a deputy to the NPC. Her proposals this year centered on improving welfare for young staff, increasing investment in the elderly care industry, and encouraging enterprises to participate in this sector.
On Wednesday morning, NPC deputies were speaking to the public and taking questions from the media at the Deputies' Corridor before the opening of the third session of the 14th NPC, China's top legislature, at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
