Known for their exquisite engravings, these dazzling objects are works of art created using gold and lacquer wood carving techniques that have been popular in Guangzhou for more than 1,000 years. First appearing during the Tang Dynasty, the art form reached its peak during the Ming and Qing Dynasties and was widely used to decorate homes and places of worship. These gold and lacquer wood carving relics collected by the Guangzhou Provincial Museum are just some of the masterpieces from centuries ago.
