China's Ministry of Commerce has called on the United States to rectify its recent decision to impose a 20 percent tariff on Chinese products, labeling the action as unfounded and characteristic of protectionism, unilateralism and bullying. 

The U.S. government announced on Monday the imposition of additional 10 percent tariffs on all Chinese goods imported into the U.S., citing the fentanyl issue as a primary reason. That follows the earlier 10 percent tariff announced on February 1. 

China's State Council Information Office released a white paper, "Controlling Fentanyl-Related Substances – China's Contribution,"  on Tuesday, detailing its strict regulatory measures and commitment to global drug control efforts.

The ministry emphasized that China has been proactive in controlling fentanyl-related substances.
