The one-China principle is the political foundation of China-Japan relations, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at a press conference on Friday on the sidelines of the third session of the 14th National People's Congress.
To provoke trouble in the name of the Taiwan region is to invite trouble for Japan, Wang added.
Remembering history helps shape the future, Wang said, noting that forgetting history can lead to losing one's direction.
He emphasized that guarding against the revival of militarism is a duty Japan must carry out without hesitation, a resolve shared by China and the Asian people that cannot be challenged.
What is the right way to be neighbors, and which side of history is correct? Wang asked. Faced with historical transformations, Japan's bright minds need to carefully consider these questions and heed wise counsel, he said.
