Chinese President Xi Jinping personally planned and conducted head-of-state diplomacy in the past year, achieving many fruitful results, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at a press conference on the sidelines of the third session of the 14th National People's Congress in Beijing on Friday.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that last year, the three monumental events China hosted – the Conference Marking the 70th Anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Beijing Summit, and the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum – set a new benchmark for the Global South joining hands for common progress.
The four overseas visits by President Xi also generated new dynamism for global solidarity and cooperation.
As the leader of a major country and a large political party, President Xi has demonstrated a global vision, shouldered the responsibility of our times, and led China's diplomacy in upholding fundamental principles, breaking new ground and making steady progress, Wang said. He added that China's relations with the world have thus undergone positive and profound changes.
Wang said that in 2025, China will host a series of major events, and the country's head-of-state diplomacy will write a new chapter of mutual progress and achievement with the world.
