Australia ordered thousands of people in its eastern regions especially Brisbane to evacuate before Tropical Cyclone Alfred hits land on Saturday (March 8), as the storm brought heavy rain, huge waves and strong winds that cut off power, swamped beaches and shut airports. Queensland Premier David Crisafulli said the number of power outages has now crossed 60,000 homes, with the figure is expected to rise.
