Wang Yi stresses China-U.S. cooperation, opposes decoupling

"High fences and small yards" cannot suppress the spirit of innovation, and decoupling and supply chain disruption will only lead to self-isolation, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, responding to a question by CGTN's Tian Wei on China-U.S. competition in technology at a press conference on diplomacy on the sidelines of the 14th National People's Congress in Beijing on Friday.

He pointed out that China-U.S. business relations are based on two-way and reciprocal interactions, and cooperation will bring about mutual benefits and win-win results.

One should not fantasize that it can suppress China and maintain good relations with China at the same time, Wang said, adding China will definitely take countermeasures in response to arbitrary pressure.
