The Chinese wheelchair curling team booked their spot at the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo after advancing to the playoff stage at the World Wheelchair Curling Championship in Stevenston, Scotland this week.
There are 12 teams participating in the round robin competitions and China won nine of their 11 games, topping all participants to reach the playoff round. The other five qualified teams for the knockout competitions were South Korea, Sweden, Norway, Canada and Slovakia.
China defeated Canada 5-4 in the semifinals on Friday, advancing to the final where they will compete with South Korea for the title.
Wheelchair curling was first included at the Winter Paralympics in 2006 in Turin, Italy. China won the event in both 2018 in PyeongChang, South Korea, and in 2022 at home in Beijing.
