Moscow and Washington have not yet begun to work on addressing existing problems in bilateral relations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday.

In an interview with the press, Lavrov said that while it may be too soon to draw conclusions from statements made by the new U.S. administration, they are still promising.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova confirmed on Monday that Russia and the United States are not expected to hold talks in Saudi Arabia this week.

Delegations from both countries previously met in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on February 18 and in Istanbul, Türkiye, on February 27 to discuss bilateral ties and the Ukraine crisis, among other issues.
