A freight train loaded with castings, fasteners, and other goods has departed from Jize County in Hebei Province, heading to Hanoi, Vietnam. The journey is expected to take about seven days. This is the first direct freight train from Hebei to ASEAN markets this year, significantly reducing transportation time between the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and Vietnam. This means lower logistics costs for businesses and a more efficient, stable way to transport goods like castings, fasteners, and agricultural products. Since its test run in May 2024, the route has completed 22 trips, transporting 176 containers filled with items ranging from children's bicycles to cassava flour. And there's more to come—the service is set to increase to two trips a week and could soon extend to Laos, Thailand, and beyond, further expanding the China-ASEAN International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.
