As the lingering chill of winter gives way to the warmth of spring, red-crowned cranes in Zhalong National Nature Reserve in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province can be seen frolicking playfully, flapping their wings and letting out calls, attracting visitors to snap photos of their graceful movements.

Covering an area of 2,100 square kilometers, Zhalong National Nature Reserve is a vital habitat for red-crowned cranes, a national first-class protected species, along with a diverse array of other wildlife.
