Lin Gaoyuan advanced to the round of 16 at the WTT Champions in Chongqing on Tuesday with a commanding 3-0 victory over South Korea's Cho Dae-seong.

Lin exhibited complete control throughout as he clinched the first game decisively with an 11-5 scoreline. Although Cho attempted to mount a comeback in the second game, narrowing the gap to 7-6, Lin, currently ranked World No. 11, maintained his composure and responded with four consecutive points, securing the game 11-6.

Lin continued to dominate in the third game, completing the match with a comfortable 3-0 victory. He is set to face either his compatriot Liang Jinkun or Australia's Finn Luu in the next round.

On the women's side, world number one Sun Yingsha narrowly defeated Austria's Sofia Polcanova in the first round. Polcanova started strong, showcasing her skills with a powerful smash that propelled her to a 9-4 lead. However, Sun quickly regrouped, launching a seven-point streak to take the first game 11-9.

The World No. 14 from Austria, who claimed the European Championships title last year, refused to back down and stayed within striking distance, trailing by just one point after a lengthy rally in the second game. Nevertheless, Sun maintained her form to secure the game 11-7. She ultimately completed the sweep with an 11-8 victory in the third game, earning her place in the round of 16.
