China's Tarim Oilfield has extracted 150 million tonnes of oil and gas equivalent from ultra-deep reserves 6,000 meters below the surface since operations began, accounting for 37 percent of China's total output in 2024. Located in Xinjiang, it is the country's largest deep-earth oil and gas reservoir. In the first two months of 2024, it produced over 3 million tonnes of oil and gas equivalent.
