Rooftops in Gankeng Ancient Town are heavily laden with bougainvillea, bringing bursts of floral color to the cityscape. The Hakka village nestled in the south China megacity of Shenzhen is drawing blossom chasers, many of whom have been seen snapping keepsake pictures of the spring spectacle.
Sprawling over the sides of the traditional buildings, the bougainvillea brings the beauty of nature closer to urban dwellers.
