A trip through Sino-Vietnamese heritage: Lijiang and Hoi An old towns

Nestled in Yunnan, China, the Old Town of Lijiang is renowned for its Naxi ethnic culture, well-preserved streets, bridges, and a network of canals. The town's layout blends harmoniously with the natural landscape, with the majestic Yulong Snow Mountain towering above it to the northwest. Characterized by two-story tile-roofed wooden houses, Lijiang offers a glimpse into traditional Chinese architecture and urban planning. 

Hoi An Ancient Town, located in central Vietnam, was once a bustling port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. Unlike Lijiang's mountainous setting, Hoi An's charm lies in its riverside beauty, yellow-walled houses, and lantern-lit streets. The architecture is a blend of Vietnamese, Chinese, and European influences, reflecting the town's historical role as a global trading hub.

Both towns, listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, celebrate their unique heritage while preserving centuries-old traditions, making them must-visit cultural gems.
