China's tallest overwater transmission tower is under construction in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. Set to reach a height of 264.5 meters upon its completion in April, the tower will boost transmission capacity by 40 percent. A giant crossarm at its apex is key to the assembly process, acting as a balance to lift materials with pulleys and steel cables. The tower has so far reached 105 meters, equal to a 35-story building.
