A large-scale of celebration was held in the Beijing Garden Expo on Friday to celebrate the first Asian Taijiquan Day. Officially established on October 10, 2024, during the 54th executive committee meeting of the Asian Sport for All Association, March 21 has now been designated as Asian Taijiquan Day.
In Beijing, 3,210 Taiji lovers gathered to perform a synchronized display of the fundamental movements of this ancient martial art. Additionally, branch events took place in cities such as Jiaozuo and Sanya, bringing together a total of 50,000 participants in celebration. This year's theme, "Harmonious Taiji, Healthy Life," underscores Taijiquan's remarkable ability to promote both physical and mental well-being.
After personally trying his hand at Taiji and conversing with several experts, Sports Scene's Josh Cotterill expressed that it is not only a method for training the body and mind but also a practice that is equally humbling and inspiring.
