The design of the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur reflects the cultural and religious elements of Malaysia. The appearance of the towers presents a layered structure of the Islamic octagonal shape, symbolizing unity, harmony, stability and rationality. The interior decoration is also full of national characteristics. The two towers are connected by a corridor nearly 60 meters long, about 170 meters above the ground. The corridor not only has practical functions but is also a major characteristic feature of the building.
