Home hope Zhang Zhanshuo won the men's 200-meter individual medley title at the Chinese National Spring Swimming Championships in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, on Saturday, adding a third gold medal for the host city.
Zhang, 17, finished the final in 1:58.59, becoming the only participant to go under two minutes. He had already won the 1500-meter freestyle and 200-meter butterfly titles at this competition.
"I need to raise the standard for myself, because I am not entirely satisfied with this result," Zhang said after his latest victory.
The men's 200-meter individual medley silver medal went to Zhejiang's Xie Yichen. Guangdong's Deng Ziqi came in third.
In the men's 100-meter freestyle final, He Junyi clinched the first gold for Zhejiang after touching the wall first in 48.44 seconds. Henan's Wang Haoyu was 0.01 seconds behind for silver, and Guangdong's Chen Juner came away with bronze.
On the women's side, Chen Luying of Fujian won the 200-meter butterfly title in 2:07.30, ahead of runner-up Yu Liyan of Guangdong, who completed the race in 2:08.19.
Guangdong's Liu Yaxin set a personal best in the 1500-meter freestyle final by finishing in 16:08.44.
