China welcomes more U.S. lawmakers and individuals from various sectors to visit and gain a deeper understanding of the country, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Monday.
Speaking at a daily press briefing, Guo responded to U.S. Senator Steve Daines' remarks about his hope to organize a bipartisan delegation of senators to visit China later this year, following David Perdue's appointment as U.S. ambassador to China.
"China welcomes more U.S. lawmakers and people from all walks of life to visit and gain a better understanding of China to play a constructive role in promoting the steady, sound and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations," Guo said.
