French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot will visit China on March 27 and 28, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson announced on Monday.
Jean-Noël Barrot will pay the visit at the invitation of Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and minister of foreign affairs.
Last year, China and France celebrated the 60th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.
"Foreign Minister Wang Yi will hold talks with Minister Barrot, exchanging views on implementing the consensus reached by the two heads of state, advancing China-France and China-EU relations, and other topics of mutual concern," said Guo Jiakun, spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
