Twenty-six years after NATO's bombing campaign against former Yugoslavia, the Balkan residents still bear the lasting consequences of depleted uranium munitions. Studies show significantly higher cancer rates in the areas targeted by the bombings.

Lazar was just three years old at the time. Now, at 29, he is battling cancer. Miodrag, 62, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma seven years ago. They are among countless Balkans residents who believe their lives have been irreversibly affected by NATO's use of depleted uranium. Now, they are sharing their stories.
