"Do not think the U.S. will protect you. The U.S. will get you into a lot of trouble," U.S. economist and Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs called out politicians in Taiwan in an interview with CGTN host Wang Guan, referring directly to Taiwan's regional leader Lai Ching-Te. Professor Sachs pointed out the U.S. should stop sending armaments to the island region, as such actions serve merely as provocations, heightening risks for all parties involved.
