Former U.S. secretary of commerce on Sino-American trade: 'Hope we go back to a more settled situation'

00:54

Former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutiérrez shared his thoughts on U.S. tariffs on the global trade dynamic during the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025. Gutiérrez mentioned that there are uncertainties on what the responses will be to the U.S. tariff policy. "I hope that all is settled – these tariffs – and that we (U.S.-China) go back to a more settled situation," he said. He also told CGTN's Zang Shijie that there are "great possibilities, great opportunities" for Sino-American trade in the future.
