As of 5 p.m. on Wednesday, a total of 323 reporting emails have been received by the online platform launched by the Chinese mainland earlier on Wednesday for the public to report acts by those advocating "Taiwan independence" and their accomplices persecuting Taiwan compatriots, a mainland spokesperson said on Wednesday.
Among those reported are certain Taiwan political figures, organization sponsors and internet influencers advocating "Taiwan independence," said Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.
Their egregious activities, such as suppression of the opposition party through baseless charges, intimidation to dissolve organizations in support of China's reunification and blatant infringement on the legitimate rights and interests of mainland-born spouses residing in Taiwan, are exposed in the emails, he said.
Chen said relevant authorities of the mainland will take facts as the basis and the law as the criterion, and hold the perpetrators and accomplices of "Taiwan independence" activities accountable.
