An Xiangyi of China made her debut at the International Skating Union (ISU) World Figure Skating Championships in the women's free skating event in Boston, Massachusetts, on Wednesday.

There has been no Chinese skater performing in the women's singles event in four editions of the past tournaments until the 18-year-old rising star. She won the National Championships when she was just 13, and finished sixth at the Junior World Championships at 15.

An skated to French song "Voila" in the short program, but failed on her landing several times to come away with 47.52 points, which placed her 27th and out of the free skating picture.
