Commenting on the U.S. government's proposal to levy fines of up to $1.5 million on ships made in China, John Pang, a former Malaysian government official and senior fellow of the Belt and Road Initiative Caucus for Asia-Pacific, said this bizarre and gangster-like move will disrupt both global and U.S. shipping efficiency, while China's dominance in the sector remains unchanged.
