Recently, several mainland spouses in Taiwan have had their residency permits revoked and been ordered to leave the island within a set timeframe by the Democratic Progressive Party authorities for publicly expressing "support for national unification" online. Fred Tzou, deputy secretary general of the U.S.-based Alliance for China's Peaceful Reunification, told CGTN that separating families is truly cruel.
