Jiang Xinyu of China and Wu Fang-Hsien of Chinese Taipei reached the women's doubles semifinals at the Miami Open in Miami, Flordia, on Wednesday with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Chinese pair Wang Xinyu and Zheng Saisai.
Jiang and Wu served four aces and converted four of five break points to prevail in an hour and 20 minutes. Wang and Zheng won 70 percent of their first-serve points but were let down by a series of unforced errors at crucial moments.
Jiang and Wu will meet Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider of Russia on Saturday for a place in the final at stake. The Russian pair progressed by overcoming Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia and Peyton Stearns of the United States 5-7, 6-3, 10-4 in the quarterfinals.
