Rising tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum are putting additional pressure on Canadian breweries, which are already grappling with high costs and supply chain problems. Since most beer is sold in aluminum cans and Canada has to import aluminum sheets from the U.S., the situation is particularly precarious. Smaller breweries may find it hard to survive the cost increases, while larger ones are better positioned to weather the storm. The ongoing tariff dispute presents a major challenge for the industry.
