Embrace spring's beauty with Pinghu's Cherry Blossom Tourism Season

As flowers fill Pinghu's air with a pleasant fragrance, the city in east China's Zhejiang Province recently welcomed international guests from all over the world for its annual Cherry Blossom Tourism Season.

The event is underway in Zhongxi, a small town in Pinghu City. Currently, it is the best time to appreciate spring scenery here, as over 20,000 cherry trees together with other bloomers such as tulips, annual phlox, hydrangeas and pink hairawn muhly, are flowering in a relay of succession, making the spot a popular tourist destination. Walking along the paths lined with cherry trees and capturing the beauty with cameras, visitors can enjoy springtime while having an intimate encounter with nature.

Nearly 60 tourists from 18 countries were there to enjoy the stunning floral landscapes while participating in a variety of exhibitions and intangible cultural heritage experiences, which fully showcased the city's natural views and cultural traditions. As the hub of high-quality Japanese-invested and German-invested enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region, Pinghu is also an international community where people from various countries reside. "It makes me feel at home to see such beautiful cherry blossoms in Pinghu," said Ikeda Hiroshi, who is from Japan and has been living in Pinghu for three years. He is deeply drawn to Chinese culture and had learned a lot about Chinese history through films before coming to Pinghu. Despite his busy working schedule, he still manages to explore the city by walking around. This outing left him better acquainted with the city’s culture and history, he added. During the tour, the guests were also introduced to some cultural performances such as tea art, pipa playing and the folk dance.

The event is scheduled to run from March 21 and throughout the spring season, where a feast that combines sightseeing, cultural interactions and shopping activities will be presented in the city.
