As the U.S. moves to tighten its economy by raising tariffs, it is crucial for China to take the opposite approach, said Kishore Mahbubani, a former Singaporean diplomat and leading global affairs expert, at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025. "I think that would be a wise policy for China to do, and I think China is doing that," he said.
