During his visit to China, Fiji’s Speaker of Parliament, Jitoko, praised the whole-process people's democracy model, particularly the grassroots consultation seen in Shanghai’s legislative offices. He noted how involving local communities in lawmaking makes citizens feel a sense of ownership and responsibility for the laws that govern them. Jitoko expressed that this inclusive approach could inspire Fiji's legislative system.
