China Media Group (CMG) on Saturday launched an expert committee on South China Sea studies at a ceremony, during which the Southeast Asia Perceptions Report on the South China Sea was released in Sanya, south China's Hainan province.
As the world's largest, most diverse and most extensive comprehensive international media organization, CMG is committed to being a promoter of peace in the South China Sea, a recorder of pragmatic cooperation and a driver of shared development and win-win outcomes, Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, said at the event.

Through key projects and communication platforms such as the construction of CMG's base in Sanya, CMG has produced high-quality programs like Ren'ai Jiao: Teardrop of the Nansha Qundao and If Xianbin Jiao Could Speak, which have received over 6.2 billion views and sparked widespread response, Shen said.
He said the establishment of the expert committee is an innovative initiative by CMG to promote the building of a maritime community with a shared future.
Fan Yun, deputy editor-in-chief of CMG, and Wang Bin, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and head of the provincial Party committee's Publicity Department, were among those who attended the ceremony.
