The death toll has risen to 1,644, with over 3,400 injured. As rescue efforts enter their third day, much of the damage remains concentrated in the nation's second-largest city — Mandalay. The quake has caused significant damage to buildings, roads and bridges across Myanmar. International assistance from countries including China and India has been ongoing.
