Infrared cameras at Dulan Lake National Wetland Park in northwest China's Qinghai Province have captured rare footage of dholes, carnivorous animals of the canid family, the area's top predator. Dholes are a national first-class protected species in China. The video shows an alert and agile adult dhole and its pups emerging from a den into the spring wilderness. Also known as the Asiatic wild dog, the dhole plays a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance.
