Experts on Taiwan studies from Shanghai have spoken to CGTN about the repercussions of Lai Ching-te's controversial remarks since taking office. They say rising defense spending is eroding public welfare, escalating tensions and jeopardizing Taiwan's economic future, especially for its youth.
