Africa Reimagined hosted a panel discussion with African fashion designers at the Shanghai Fashion Week. Deputy Ambassador of the Kenya Embassy in Beijing, China Lynette Mwende Ndile spoke to CGTN, and delivered an opening speech at the event. She touched on the importance of "The close collaboration … at bilateral level between Kenya and The People's Republic of China." She also highlighted the "rich African heritage" in which the rest of the world should get to know, and how Africa has original prints and textiles within the fashion industry. She mentions that the outcome of the event should ensure more collaboration and increased partnership between African and Chinese designers.
