A thousand years ago, famous poet Lin Bu (967-1028) wrote a verse about the plum blossom. Today, the plum blossom, flowering in solitude, continues to inspire artists and writers.
Amidst the fading blooms, alone it thrives,
In the garden small, its grace survives.
Sparse shadows slant on waters clear,
A drifting scent at dusk draws near.
The frost bird peers before its flight,
Would butterflies, if knowing, lose their light?
Yet whispers soft bring solace deep,
No need for lute or wine to keep.
