Several chambers of commerce representing the interest of various industries in China have expressed their resolute opposition to the "reciprocal tariffs" imposed by the U.S. on the country this week.

The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Medicines and Health Products, the national industrial association dedicated to advancing to promote international trade and investment in the healthcare sector, said on Saturday that it firmly opposes the unilateral trade bullying by the United States as health rights and interests of people around the world should not be infringed by unfair trade measures.

"We firmly support the countermeasures taken by the Chinese government and will work with the pharmaceutical industry around the world to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of global pharmaceutical companies," the chamber added.

In a separate statement, the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products called for all of its member enterprises to unite and adhere to the path of international openness and win-win cooperation, actively adjust foreign trade business strategies, explore diversified markets, and accelerate the transformation and upgrading of foreign trade.

The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles expressed hope that the U.S. will heed the voices from global industries and consumers, correct the mistakes it has made – which serve the interests of neither itself nor others – and get back on the right course.

The China Chamber Of Commerce for Import and Export of Light Industrial Products and Arts-Crafts called on the international industrial community, light industry enterprises from various countries, and upstream and downstream partners to join hands and collectively oppose the U.S. trade bullying practices in a statement.
