The China Coast Guard (CCG) expelled a Japanese fishing vessel that unlawfully entered China's territorial waters around Diaoyu Dao on April 5 and 6, a spokesperson for the CCG said on Sunday.
In the process, the CCG implemented necessary management and control measures and issued warnings to drive the Japanese vessel out of the area, CCG spokesperson Liu Dejun said.
Noting that Diaoyu Dao and its affiliated islands are China's inherent territory, the CCG urged the Japanese side to cease all illegal activities in these waters.
The CCG will continue to conduct law enforcement operations in the territorial waters of Diaoyu Dao to safeguard national sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
