At this year's first Diving World Cup event, China's Olympic champions Chen Yuxi and Quan Hongchan completed a dominant one-two finish in the women's 10-meter platform final.
Quan finished first in qualifications. The three-time Olympic gold medalist maintained form in the final as she lead second-placed Chen by 2.7 points after the first two rounds.
The third round was the only round where Chen and Quan performed different technical dives. 19-year-old Chen earned a high score of 89.10 points with a brilliant 626C action.
Quan selected the 6243D dive, but made some mistakes during her entry into the water, receiving a score of 75.20 points. After three rounds, Chen surpassed Quan to top the standings. The pair led the third-placed diver by over 50 points.
Chen continued to enlarge her lead thanks to 84.15 point dive in the fourth round, extending the gap to a double-digits over Quan.
Chen selected the 5253B dive for her final attempt, scoring 76.80 points and finishing with a total of 419.35 points.
Quan finished strong with 88.00 points, but her total score was 414.40 which was not enough to claim first. Chen sealed her 15th world cup title and Britain's Andrea Spendolini Sirieix came third with 337.70 points.
In the men's ten-meter synchronized final, China's Zhu Zifeng and Cheng Zilong overcame Mexico's Randal Willars Valdez and Kevin Berlin Reyes to win gold. Zhu and Cheng started strong, claiming 102.60 points after the first two rounds.
The Chinese duo made a mistake and were surpassed by the Mexican team in the third round. But they quickly found their form and earned 90.78 points to restore the lead in the fourth.
Zhu and Cheng completed the sixth round with 87.48 points and sealed the gold medal with a total of 449.49 points, defeating the Mexican duo by 14.04 points. Ruslan Ternovoi and Nikita Shleikher finished third.
